Stephen and Kevin Attend Garden Party at Áras an Uachtaráin

We are delighted to share that two of our residents, Stephen and Kevin, recently had the honour of attending the Annual Garden Party at Áras an Uachtaráin – the official residence of President Michael D. Higgins.

Accompanied by Nua team members Evelyn and Radu, the visit marked a truly special occasion and one they had been looking forward to for quite some time. After nearly 18 months of anticipation, their official invitation finally arrived, and excitement quickly set in.

From the moment they stepped through the gates, the day was filled with memorable moments. Welcomed by Gardaí at the entrance and having their passports checked against the guest list, Stephen and Kevin were immediately immersed in the sense of occasion.

Inside the Áras, they explored the beautifully maintained rooms, admired statues of former Presidents, and enjoyed the soft sounds of a harpist playing in the background. Out in the gardens, the highlight of the day awaited – the opportunity to meet the President.

Stephen took in the experience with quiet appreciation, while Kevin confidently introduced himself, proudly sharing that he was attending as part of Nua Healthcare Services. He even had a brief conversation with President Higgins himself.

The Garden Party has joyful atmosphere, filled with music, dancing, and a delicious afternoon tea of sandwiches and sweet treats. President Higgins and his wife Sabina were warmly welcomed by all in attendance, and the President delivered a heartfelt speech on inclusion, community, and the importance of ensuring that everyone has a place in Irish society.

As the day unfolded, Stephen and Kevin clapped along to the live music and joined in the celebrations, fully embracing this unforgettable experience.
