Iron Hills Team Takes on Turf Warrior Challenge for Cois Nore
The Iron Hills team recently put their teamwork and determination to the test, taking on the Turf Warrior Run in Connemara to raise vital funds for Cois Nore Cancer Support Centre.
The 7km challenge saw the team tackle one of Ireland’s wildest mud runs, making their way through the Connemara landscape and taking on mud pits, gorges, waterfalls and hills before braving the waters of Killary Fjord.
While completing the course was no easy feat, there was an important motivation behind the challenge. The team chose to support Cois Nore because of their personal connection with the organisation and the difference its services have made to people close to them.
Members of the Iron Hills team, as well as family members of staff, have previously accessed support from Cois Nore during cancer treatment, making the decision to fundraise for the centre particularly meaningful.
Cois Nore Cancer Support Centre provides a range of services for people affected by cancer, including professional counselling, massage and reflexology, group support, drop-in services, information and advocacy.
Through their fantastic fundraising efforts, the Iron Hills team raised an incredible €2,000. Nua Healthcare Services was delighted to contribute a further €1,000, bringing the overall donation to €3,000 in support of Cois Nore and the important work it provides to individuals and families affected by cancer.
The challenge was a fantastic demonstration of teamwork, resilience and community spirit, with the Iron Hills team crossing the finish line together after successfully navigating everything the Connemara course threw at them.
