Nua Healthcare Services is proud to congratulate Maggie Finnegan, Head of Catering at our Gormanston facility, on being named Catering Manager of the Year at the prestigious Gold Medal Catering Awards.
Originally from Balbriggan, Co. Dublin, Maggie trained in Culinary Arts at Cathal Brugha Street College and has built a distinguished career spanning more than 35 years in the catering and hospitality industry. This award recognises her unwavering commitment to excellence, her strong leadership, and her passion for creating food that brings people together.
Since joining Nua Healthcare Services over three years ago, Maggie has played a central role in developing the catering service at Gormanston. She led the full design and set-up of the kitchen, establishing a high-quality service that supports individuals receiving specialist rehabilitation and recovery-focused mental health care.
Maggie’s achievement is particularly noteworthy given the calibre of the category, with nominees from a range of sectors including golf clubs and universities.
Speaking about the award, Maggie said: “Working in a hospital setting has been the most meaningful and rewarding chapter of my career. The opportunity to make a real difference to the daily lives of our patients, providing comfort, dignity, joy, and a sense of normality through food, is something truly special and something I value deeply.”
At Nua Healthcare Services, we recognise the vital role that high-quality catering plays in supporting wellbeing, dignity, and recovery. Maggie’s work exemplifies these values in practice every day.
We extend our sincere congratulations to Maggie on this fantastic and well-deserved achievement.
