Taliesin Awards and Fun Day
During the summer, Taliesin invited residents and staff to join them at the Nua Award’s Fun Day Event which took place on the seven acre grounds outside Portlaoise. Residents were awarded for their participation during the IASE Job Shadow week, for completing NALA, SocialEyes, Etraining courses and for their participation and completion of Nua Healthcare’s Life Long Learning Academy prospectus but to name a few. The picturesque independent living grounds welcomed all residents from across the service to soak up the atmosphere, to socialise with each other and to enjoy the live music, fine barbeque foods, fresh salads from Winterdown, special dietary foods, and for the beautiful weather; an ice-cream van!!
Activities commenced early on in the day with residents having great fun on the inflatable gladiator rings, taking part in three-legged races, wet sponges and wellie throwing and lots more. A big thank you to everyone involved in the background organisation of the event and for making it such an enjoyable day for our residents. Well done to all of our award winners and equally to our course participants.
