Why Work For Nua?

Nua Healthcare is a young, vibrant and progressive organisation with deeply embedded values, all of which encapsulate our commitment and desire to care for our people. We have spent years carefully accumulating employee benefit partnerships that we feel bring the best value to our people and we continue to focus our efforts on enhancing the health, wellbeing and quality of life for everyone working within our service.

Your Health Is Your Wealth

Keeping you healthy is one of our many priorities, and so, over time, we have built partnerships with an array of providers to offer you the most competitive discounts and offers on the market today.

Nua Healthcare employees can avail of:

Discounted health insurance schemes offering 24/7 access to nurses, online prescription services, home testing kits, video calls with GP’s and much more. This not only avoids lengthy appointment waiting times currently being experienced nationwide, but it also reduces fuel consumption and the time spent travelling to and from your GP. Health insurance plans also cover general health checks, personalised fitness, nutrition and wellbeing programmes through your very own dedicated Health Coach.

If you prefer to spread the cost of your everyday healthcare over a longer period of time, Nua offers access to discounted rates on health cash plans, which are an easy and affordable way of doing this. Depending on your chosen plan, you may have cover towards GP costs, chiropractic, homeopathy and acupuncture, physiotherapy and a number of other complementary treatments such as osteopathy. Other plans on offer may require payment upfront and reimbursement thereafter. Health cash plans also give you unlimited 24/7 access to GP services and helplines.

As an employee, you also have free on-demand access to a confidential online service we refer to as our ‘Employee Assistance Programme’, which provides one-to-one support in many aspects of daily life which may be impacting your health, wellbeing, work and family life. This service is available 24/7, 365 days per year. Each employee and their family is entitled to six (6) free sessions per year.

Making Provision for Your Future

Pension:

According to a September 2022 survey commissioned by Pensions Awareness Week, 43% of people in Ireland hold no form of pension product, with almost two-thirds of that cohort reporting that they cannot afford to both save for retirement and meet their monthly bills. That figure, according to the survey, rises to 72% amongst those aged 35-49. That’s why, at Nua Healthcare, we operate a ‘Defined Contribution’ pension for all staff with six+ months of services. As a staff member, you can contribute anything up to 3% of your annual gross earnings, and we match your contribution (up to a maximum of 3%). Income tax relief is granted based on your contribution amount and based on your age.

Education:

Nua Healthcare has always promoted and encouraged employees to pursue their personal and professional development. We believe a core reason for success stems from the approach of continually training and developing our staff so that they may facilitate our Mission, Vision and Values, and meet the needs of each of the individuals availing of our services. We are delighted to offer the hugely successful educational assistance programme to all staff.  Staff can request financial support from Nua Healthcare to fund, either in part or in full, the course they would like to complete. Each application is assessed by the Training Manager, taking key considerations and criteria into account.

Life Assurance (Death in Service):

Although nobody likes to discuss this topic and we collectively hope it never happens, Nua Healthcare does recognise its duty to families in the event of an untimely death of a staff member. Life Assurance is paid to the staff member’s next of kin/nominated beneficiary on record. Life Assurance is valued at 2 times the staff member’s annual salary and all staff are covered by the policy from the first day of employment in Nua Healthcare.

Mortgage Protection Policies:

Campion Insurance are offering Nua staff a 15% discount on Mortgage Protection Policies.

Health Services’ Staff Credit Union:

You can apply for loans to assist you with your education, buying a new car, becoming a first-time buyer and even for home improvements. The credit union also offers savings accounts, shares and deposit accounts, Christmas savings accounts and overdraft facilities. It also offers free online banking and insurance.

Each month, Nua Healthcare recognised staff for achieving excellence in their role and for exhibiting a positive and supportive attitude towards others in the course of their work.

Staff are nominated by their colleagues for three types of awards monthly:
