Nua Healthcare Services is proud to share the keynote address delivered by our CEO, Noel Dunne, at this year’s Summer School in Forensic Psychiatry in Italy.
The 2025 theme — Leadership — invited reflection on how compassion, collaboration, and purpose-driven vision shape effective leadership in practice.
In his keynote, Noel shares personal insights drawn from his own life journey — from early experiences that inspired his understanding of empathy and resilience, to his professional path across different sectors, and ultimately his leadership role at Nua Healthcare Services. He discusses how leadership is not about hierarchy or position, but about serving others, learning from challenges, and helping people and organisations grow together.
The short documentary includes contributions from Nua’s clinical professionals, managers, service users, residents, patients, and family members, while highlighting some of Nua Healthcare Services' recent forward-thinking community inclusion initiatives — such as the Nua Healthcare Services Caregiver Empowerment Programme, CLaD Hubs, and Abbey Blooms Botanical Gardens — which reflect Nua’s commitment to innovation, inclusion, and continuous learning.
As Noel reminds us, “Leadership isn’t reserved for the extraordinary few; it lives in all of us.”
It is through everyday acts of courage, collaboration, and compassion that meaningful progress is made — within organisations, communities, and the lives of those we support.
Watch the short documentary below to learn more about how leadership continues to guide Nua Healthcare Services' mission of providing person-centred, high-quality care across Ireland.
