Clinical Psychologist

The Company

Nua Healthcare specialises in providing Residential care, Community outreach and Day services to adults and children with complex support requirements on both the Intellectual Disability and Mental Health spectrums.  We pride ourselves in providing true person-centred care for individuals in their own home or in appropriate community based care facilities.

  • Competency Framework Evaluation conducted against role

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete Functional Assessments
  • Plan and implement Multi Element Behaviour Support Plans
  • Monitor and develop MEBSP and carry out Periodic Service Reviews
  • Undertake assessments to aid understanding of an individual’s ASD
  • Prepare and deliver specific briefs and training plans pertaining to Service Users
  • Deliver 1:1 Therapeutic sessions
  • Deliver training to front line staff
  • Analyse and prepare reports on incidents
  • Deliver services through a person-centred approach

Essential Criteria

  • Psychology Degree
  • Specific qualifications in the area of behavioural assessment and intervention (e.g. Diploma in Applied Psychology of Learning Disability (Challenging Behaviour),  or MSc in Analysis and Intervention in Intellectual Disabilities)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years minimum experience within a similar role
  • A comprehensive understanding of the principles of Positive Behaviour Support
  • A good level of experience in managing teams
  • A good level of understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorders and the co-morbid conditions associated with it
  •  Previous experience within the area of Challenging Behaviour
  • A high standard of report writing, personal support plans, people and roster management
  • Genuine respect and empathy for diversity and individuality
