Nua's Annual Service User Christmas Party
On December 14th, at the Keadeen Hotel in Newbridge, the Annual Service Users Christmas Party took place. Service Users, their families, friends, and staff, started arriving to the event from 5pm onwards where Santa’s helpful elves greeted and seated nearly 500 attendees. By 6pm, the show got underway in a lively fashion from our group of drummers who have recently been attending lessons at Fairgreen Day Service. They were absolutely fantastic and got everyone on their feet showing us all how their hard work and practice truly paid off. During the first part of the show, attendees enjoyed many brilliant performances, from Jason singing ‘Mistletoe and Wine’, Lizzie’s ‘Silent Night’, Lauren and Patricia singing ‘Away in a Manger’, and much more, the audience we’re left in anticipation for what would become an equally enjoyable second half.
During the 7pm interval, performers and spectating service users, their family, friends and Nua staff, enjoyed a delicious traditional Christmas meal of turkey, ham, gravy, creamy potatoes and vegetables while Santa made an appearance from the North pole to give gifts to many lucky attendees. The show re-commenced at 8pm with powerful group performances and soloists and even a special song and dance routine from our Moldavan guests. The night ended with a beautiful performance from all participants of the show, closing out on what was described by many, as a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Below is a clip of guests arriving to the venue and we will be uploading a selection of videos of our performers on the night over the coming few weeks.
