Nua Healthcare Hosts Annual Awards & Fun Day
On Thursday 25th June, Nua Healthcare hosted our Annual Awards and Fun Day on the picturesque grounds of Taliesin House in County Laois. Each summer, Nua Healthcare invites our residents and staff to join us in celebration of the many great achievements of our residents throughout the year.
This year’s event was a fantastic success with turnout numbers in excess of 120, inclusive of residents and staff. Certificates, medals and an array of prizes were awarded to residents for their participation and completion of programmes such as; the IASE’s National Job Shadow Day, completion of online training courses provided by E-Training and for their participation in Nua Healthcare’s Lifelong Learning Academy.
Residents were overjoyed by the event which recognised all of their hard work and magnificent achievements. One resident in particular was so overwhelmed, they were reduced to tears.
The seven acre grounds of Taliesin provides a perfect setting for residents of Nua Healthcare to socialise and celebrate with each other and to soak up the wonderful atmosphere while enjoying a number of fantastic on-site activities coordinated by the Community and Outreach Department.
On June 25th, many of the fun activities commenced from early in the afternoon with residents and staff enjoying bungee running, inflatable gladiator duels, inflatable basketball, sumo wrestling and arts and crafts. Residents also participated in novelty events such as; egg and spoon races and a sack race. After all the activities and having built up an appetite, a delicious BBQ with fresh salads and minerals were ready to tuck into as everyone enjoyed live music from Former ‘Voice of Ireland’ contestant Aisling Connolly.
Well done to all of our residents on their great achievements and for their participation and thank you to the teams involved in the organisation of what turned out to be a very memorable occasion for us all.
