Gary wins bronze medal for Ireland!

Nua resident Gary has returned from the Malmo International Parasport Games in Sweden with a bronze medal representing Ireland. The parasport games saw international athletes with disabilities compete across various sports including table tennis, wheelchair basketball, swimming, bowling and hockey. Gary, from Cork, won bronze in para table tennis. Gary is part of the Beech Hill Club in Cork City and is a member of the Irish Paralympics team. He trains in Beech Hill every Wednesday.

His sister Fiona coaches him and accompanied him on his recent trip to Sweden. Fiona paid tribute to the entire coaching staff with the Irish team in Malmo including Susan, Mick, Hiroto, Rachel and Chinatsu.

Nua’s Day Services in Co. Cork held a Homecoming party for Gary recently where the former CEO of Nua Healthcare, Chris Hindle, presented Gary with an engraved silver plate and Certificate of Excellence for his amazing achievement in Sweden. Congratulations Gary from all of us in Nua Healthcare.
