Nua Healthcare's Fairgreen Day Services
Nua’s Fairgreen Day Services were established in February 2015. The service facilitates and supports Service Users with their educational, recreational and social needs in a friendly and structured environment. It is situated on the outskirts of Portlaoise, Co Laois. The service caters for up to 25 individuals at any one time. There are always 3 staff on site with an additional staff member providing transport support. We also have a teacher/tutor who is based within the Day Service. The team comprises:

Tutor/Teacher Roisin Burtchaell
Along with facilitating activities in the community, the service has an arts and crafts room, games room, pool table, table tennis table, training room, relaxation/sensory room and large kitchen which facilitates cooking classes. Each Service User has a personalised Day Service folder which includes their documentation such as Personal Plans and Individual Risk Assessments. They also have a Day Service Scheduler which identifies their individual goals and interests.
Due to the large amount of activities taking place within the Day Service, any staff members that are accompanying/supporting Service Users in Fairgreen Day Services are expected to fully engage in all activities. While Fairgreen Day Services does offer a drop-in service, attendance is pre-arranged with the center manager Marina Koncani, and the Service User with his / her Key-Worker.
Fairgreen Day Services is focused on providing a person-centered approach to Service Users and we have developed a range of activities and classes to facilitate this. The Timetable is regularly updated to reflect the interests and changing needs of the people we are privileged to support.
