Our Resident's Job Shadow Experiences

In April, hundreds of individuals with disabilities throughout Ireland were afforded the unique opportunity to shadow a workplace mentor as he or she went through their normal working day in several companies and industry types, across Ireland. We would firstly like to extend our sincere thanks to all the local businesses, community organisations and individuals who took part in the ini-tiative and for offering their support by welcoming our residents into their work environment to gain on-the-ground experience and inclusion in the workplace.

Secondly, we would like to congratulate and commend all of our residents who participated in this initiative, embracing the opportunity with great enthusiasm. Finally, we would like to thank the staff who worked behind the scenes, liaising with Job Shadow representatives and coordinating resident’s travel plans to facilitated the job shadow arrangements. This year, 25 residents took part in the community based employment initiative.
