The Appointment of Dr. Harry Doyle – Clinical Director (Consultant Psychiatrist)

Nua Healthcare are delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Harry Doyle as Clinical Director (Consultant Psychiatrist) and welcome him to the Nua clinical team.  In his role Dr. Doyle will be focusing on Nua’s Mental Health Approved Centre (Cois Dalua, County Cork) as well as Nua’s Clinic that is based in Little Island, County Cork.

Dr. Doyle has extensive qualifications in the area of psychiatry and has previously held positions in the UK as well as Ireland for more than 20 years. His experience includes holding several senior Clinical Director positions both in Ireland and the UK. He also has held lecturing positions in both Imperial College London and University College Cork.

Dr. Doyle is a founding member of the Irish Psychiatric Association and has trained with the Mental Health Commission as a member of the Mental Health Act Review Tribunals. A focus of his work has included publishing articles on such matters as “Differences in Outcome for Schizophrenia”; “Review of Absconders from an acute Psychiatric Unit”; “Community Support Teams”; “Psychiatric Emergencies” and “Primary Care Liaison Psychiatry” to name but a few.

Dr. Doyle’s role will include providing overall clinical and operational leadership across the Mental Health Services for which he is responsible. Ultimately, the work undertaken by Dr. Doyle will facilitate the development and progression of important health and quality of life outcomes for the people we are privileged to support across Nua Healthcare’s Care Pathways.
