Nua Healthcare operates a community outreach model of Day Service provision. Each service user avails of a mixture of all our day services, community programs and educational links depending on their wants, needs and care plan. Both AS & LD clients avail of the same physical services, except on alternate days.
All day services have high staff ratios and are equiped with the most up to date equipment & technology available.
We have developed 3 key physical services over the past number of years as follows – Winterdown - Day ServiceWinterdown’s day service consists of Vegetable and plant cultivation coupled with the care of Donkeys, Chickens and other farmyard animals. The day service is a service user owned venture. This means that the individuals have ownership over what they grow and cultivate and sell their produce at local country fares. A person centred day service can be developed for individuals who don't have an interest in these activities.
Nua Healthcare can now facilitate on site second level education for individuals who are under 18. We have a purpose built training facility on site which can facilitate independent living skills training; general education and craft based activities.
Kilbride Mill - Day ServiceKilbride Mill, a 2000 sq foot day service situated on the grounds of Kilbride House, Portarlington, is the latest addition to our growing service for people with Asperger Syndrome. This service now caters for 10 individuals with AS, or 8 people with learning disabilities on alternate days. .
