Nua Healthcares commitment to quality
Nua Healthcares residential services have just attained Accredited status through the National Autistic Society in the UK. The National Autistic Society operate an Autism specific accreditation program for over 300 organisations worldwide. We have attained full accredited status for three years from December 2009. Not only are we the first Autism service in the state to become accredited, but the National Autistic Society felt that we rated amongst the top services out of all assessments to date. We were also the quickest organisation out of over 300 to attain accredited status. We feel this was as a direct result of a continuous quality improvement program over the past 5 years.
Standards set by the National Autistic society include 17 core standards (very similar to the standards set by HIQA) and 15 Autism specific specialist standards.
Here is a general outline synopsis of the National Autistic Societies accreditation program -
- The mission of the Autism Accreditation programme is to improve the quality of provision for people with an autism spectrum disorder:
- by providing a unified standard of excellence in both policy and practice
- by presenting a systematic framework for continuous self-examination and development; and
- by ensuring that services registered with the programme are given guidance and support in order to meet the established criteria required for accredited status.
Autism Accreditation:provides an autism-specific quality assurance programme for over 300 organisations throughout the UK and across the globe: clients include local authorities, NHS trusts, education authorities, local autistic societies and private companies.
actively seeks to help like-minded organisations throughout the world to use our expertise, in order to develop national standards on a franchising basis.
